On May 5, 2022, a young girl’s life was tragically taken away as the result of a drunk driver in Charleston, SC. Herman Heyward, 46, of North Charleston, will be charged with Felony Driving Under the Influence following his release from the hospital. Heyward drove into oncoming traffic at Highway 162 and Highway 164. Heyward hit a car containing at least four individuals. While some suffered minor injuries, a seven-year-old girl suffered fatal injuries
All accidents are preventable. South Carolina is one of the worst states for accidents and this one resulted in the loss of a young girl. Our thoughts are with her and her family.
